participatory video

Posted on February 3, 2012

Form of participatory media (see: citizen media) in which a group or community creates their own film.
The form is caused by the fact that video technology is now extremely cheap.
The group can therefore relatively easily explore and tackle important issues or tell stories and at the same time benefit from the integrating process of creating the video.
Participatory video can be a powerful tool of social change and bottom-top communication.
