In films led by the producer the film released in cinemas and on DVD is the so called producer’s cut. The director’s cut is more common in European countries and means that the director has the last word about the final version of the film. If cinemas are hit by a producer’s version, the director’s cut is often very successful on VHS, DVD etc. A well known example is Blade Runner (there is no unicorn in the producer’s cut).
